The Iowa House Education Committee is set up to fast track HF2309, a ban that would exclude transgender girls from participating in school sports programs. The bill will be debated in subcommittee early in the morning on February 10th and will subsequently be considered by the full committee immediately afterward. HF2039 is identical to other model legislation currently advancing in states across the country that targets transgender athletes for discrimination.
Instead of focusing on issues that benefit all Iowans, the Iowa Legislature is moving to entertain baseless attacks on vulnerable children. Trans children are children. They deserve to play with their friends and participate in activities like any other child. Tell your Representative: vote “no” on HF2309.
